International Students in F-1 Visa Status

Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) encourages and welcomes international applicants. The International Student Program (ISP) staff helps students with the admissions and visa application process. All students who are accepted have access to an English guided self-placement activity to help the student in determining appropriate course levels. International students also receive assistance with course registration, academic counseling, tutoring, university transfer, and housing. SRJC currently hosts students from over 48 countries around the world.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

SRJC offers over 100 associate degree majors, over 200 certificate programs, courses that transfer to four-year colleges and universities, and guaranteed transfer agreements. Many students earn a certificate or two-year associate degree and return to their home country to work or to pursue university studies, while others complete the associate degree and/or the first two years of bachelor degree requirements before transferring to university. 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must provide evidence of financial support, proof of English proficiency, high school diploma, and copy of passport.

Students who do not meet the English proficiency requirement may consider attending one of our partner intensive English programs:  ELS (www.els.edu) or SSALI (www.sonoma.edu/exed/ssali). Students enrolled at ELS or SSALI may receive conditional admission to SRJC, pending the completion of the intensive English program. Students who complete the required level of English proficiency at ELS or SSALI do not need a TOEFL or IELTS score. EMPLOYMENT

All international students are allowed to work on campus After completing one year of study, international students are eligible to seek off-campus employment through the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) program. After completing their program of study at SRJC, students can apply to work full-time for one year through the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program before transferring to a university or returning to their home country. MANDATORY HEALTH INSURANCE
